Iran crowned champion in Asian Greco-Roman Wrestling Competitions

EghtesadOnline: Iran’s Greco-Roman Wrestling Team grabbed four gold, one silver and two bronze medals in Asian Competition to crown championship in the tournament.

Kazakh, South Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Uzbek teams followed the Iranian team in the competition.

On the first day of the two-day event, Ramin Taheri, Seyyed Mustafa Salehizadeh and Behnam Mehdizadeh weighing 80, 98 and 130 kilograms respectively won gold medal of the contests, according to IRNA.

Ali Arsalan weighing 66 kilograms won bronze medal on the same day.

Iranian team ranked second jointly with the Kazakh team at the end of the first day of the competitions with three gold and one bronze medals.

Saman Abd-e Vali defeated his rival from Kyrgyzstan 5-2 to win bronze on Thursday.

Afshin Biabangard also beat his rival from Japan 2-1 to win sliver medal in the category of 71 kilograms on Thursday.

Nouri, another Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler, won gold medal against a Japanese athlete late on Thursday, bringing the number of Iran’s gold medals to four.
