The Omani minister hailed the good relations between the two countries and said that Muscat is ready to promote and develop ties with Tehran in different fields of politics and economy.

The ambassador also applauded wise approach of Sultan Qaboos of Oman and called for more development of relations between the two countries.

The two countries have economic exchanges in the fields of iron, steel, petrochemicals, food products and livestock as well as industrial machinery, automobile, construction materials, carpet, agricultural products, detergents, oil, gas, mine extraction and technical, engineering services.

Officials of both countries believe that the reason for boosting trade exchanges between Iran and Oman is to establish a shipping line between the two countries and facilitating visa issuing process.

Currently, those Iranian or Omani citizens, who carry diplomatic passport, do not need to obtain visa.

The Iranian embassy in Muscat has consulted 15 travel agencies in Oman to supply facilities concerning issuing visas for travel to Iran.
