Iran’s intelligence forces detain 41 ISIL terrorists

EghtesadOnline: Iranian security forces have detained 41 militants affiliated with the ISIL terrorist group across the country, Iran’s intelligence ministry announced in a statement, following twin deadly attacks in Tehran that were claimed by the Wahhabi group.

“Following a series of complex intelligence operations and the cooperation shown by families of some terrorists in the provinces of Kermanshah, Kurdistan, West Azarbaijan and Tehran, 41 elements of ISIL Wahhabi group were arrested before being able to make a terrorist act” the statement said.

"Many documents, equipment, explosives and munitions for terrorist operations were also seized from the terrorists," the Intelligence Ministry added.

Meantime, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alawi said over the past two days, the ministry has identified the hideout of the perpetrators of Tehran attacks, according to ISNA.

Meanwhile Iran’s Parliament which came under a terror attack recently hosted a funeral ceremony for the victims of the incident, and another concomitant one, which targeted Imam Khomeini’s Mausoleum.

The Friday event was attended by the heads of Iran’s Executive, Legislative and Judiciary Branches, President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, and Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli-Larijani respectively.

Also joining the ceremony were government ministers, and Ayatollah Mohammad Mohammadi-Golpayegani, the head of the office of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Others included foreign ambassadors, and survivors of the Wednesday attacks, who held up pictures of the victims.
