EghtesadOnline: Clean energies development as a way to decrease air pollution is on Iran's agenda, said Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade on Saturday.

Iran is a country rich in clean energy resources, said Mohammadreza Nematzadeh on the sidelines of Astana EXPO-2017 Exhibition, adding that the country with the ability to manufacture wind turbines with 2.5 MW has inked an agreement with Kazakhstan to construct a wind power plant.

“Iran is among the top ten countries with the ability to design and build large dams,' he said in the ceremony of opening Iran pavilion in the Expo.

As to solar cells, Iran is implementing some projects to produce the cells with crystal pieces, according to the minister.

He also pointed out that combined cycle and gas turbines are used in the country, and the gas and water turbines, which are exported to other countries from Iran are totally manufactured inside the country.

Kazakhstan is located to the north eastern part of the Caspian Sea.

Expo 2017-Future Energy is being held in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, from June 10 to September 10.
