Iranian broken-ear wrestlers win Thailand champs

EghtesadOnline: Iranian Greco-Roman team snatching 3 gold medals, five silver medals and one bronze medal, won the 2017 Asian Junior Championships in Thailand.

During the first fight, Iranian wrestler Milad Reza Nejad Hosseinvand in the weight category of 50 kg defeated Indian rival 9-2.

In the second round he overpowered South Korean rival 8-0, according to IRNA.

In semi-final match, Reza Nejad hit Japanese athlete 2-0 and he advanced final stage.

Unfortunately, in final match he was defeated by Kyrgyz fighter and got silver medal.

Meanwhile, after hitting Syria, India and Kyrgyzstan, Mohammad Hosseinvand in the weight category of 54 kg seized gold medal.

Other wrestlers in the weight categories of 58, 63 and 76 kg bagged silver medals.

The 2017 Junior Asian Wrestling Championships opened in Thailand’s capital Bangkok on Thursday (July 20).

Several teams from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Uzbekistan and India are competing for the second and third titles. 

The competitions wrapped up Friday (July 21) evening.
