Greenback at 150-Day High

EghtesadOnline: The rial fell to a five-month record low against the US dollar in Tehran's market on Sunday. According to Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union’s website, the greenback changed hands for 38,120 rials in the free market, marking an increase of 400 rials or 1% in less than a week. This is while the euro stopped advancing and lost 80 rials of its value on Sunday.

The rial was quoted at 45,720 to a euro, 0.05% lower than Thursday's close. Bahar Azadi gold coin's price remained unchanged at 11,850,000 rials ($311.8) compared to the previous day. The other benchmark gold coin, Emami, registered a drop of 0.1% or 12,000 rials compared to Saturday's close, changing hands for 12,203,000 rials ($321), according to Financial Tribune.
