EghtesadOnline: Iran and Ghana should exploit all potentials to enhance economic cooperation, says the Iranian Majlis (Parliament) Speaker, urging the importance of developing trade exchanges between the two nations.

The two courtiers can promote ties in the areas of economy and energy, Ali Larijani said on Saturday in a meeting with the visiting Ghanaian Second Deputy Parliament Speaker Alban S. K. Bagbin.

Referring to the visit by the Ghanaian delegation to Tehran to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on August 5, Larijani said the trip would lead to expansion of economic ties between Iran and Ghana, IRNA reported.

The two countries can have a broad cooperation in petrochemical, natural gas and oil sectors as well, he said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to invest in agricultural projects in the African country of Ghana, Larijani added, saying based on its foreign policy, Iran tends to develop its ties with African countries.

For his part, Bagbin said the visit by the Ghanaian delegation from Iran is an indication of deep relations between the two countries.

Sure enough, he said, parliamentary relations would lead to promotion of bilateral ties in other areas, particularly in the economic fields.
