EghtesadOnline: More than 3,100 tons of transit cargo were exported from Iran via Mirjaveh terminal on the border with Pakistan during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22), registering a 60% rise compared with the year before.

Cement, sulfur, bitumen and residue wax were the main commodities in transit during the period, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news service reported. Railroad holds a 10.2% share in Iran’s cargo transit. By the end of the Sixth Five-Year Development Plan (2017-22), this share is planned to rise to 30% which, according to the deputy head of Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, Mohammad Reza Nosrat Nezami, requires an investment of $27.5 billion for railroad expansion, Financial Tribune reported.
