Construction of greenhouse in Chabahar free zone

EghtesadOnline: Managing Director of Gohare Naqsh-o-Negar Company in Chabahar Free Zone Reza Darvish Damavandi announced Wednesday that by cooperation of Dutch Company 'Dalsem' construction of a modern greenhouse with 25 million dollars investment is to begin in the area.

He said that the equipped and modern greenhouse will be built in an area of 160 hectares, which will create jobs for 2,000 persons in the area, IRNA reported.

The first phase of the project will be constructed in an area of 20 hectares in 18 months and in the next phase the greenhouse will be constructed in 140 hectares, he said.

Given to geographical location of Chabahar, more than 95 percent of greenhouse crops will be exported to littoral states of the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf.

Damavandi said that the greenhouse will produce annually 600 tons tomato, cucumber, roses and squash in every hectare.

Managing Director of Dalsem Company Jan Pieter Dalsem said that the company will produce all necessary installations and controlling systems for the project.

He added that Chabahar is a strategic and important location for investment to do business.

Chabahar Port city has 283,204 population, according to the census of 1395 (past year) and is the only port of Iran on ocean.
