EghtesadOnline: The US dollar, the most widely traded currency in Tehran’s foreign exchange market, once again gained against rial in both the open and official markets on Wednesday.

The greenback was traded for 39,250 rials and 32,771 rials in the open and official markets respectively. The unofficial rate marked an increase of 120 rials compared with Tuesday’s close while the official rate’s growth was around 90 rials. According to Tehran Gold and Jewelry Union’s website, euro, another high-demand currency in Tehran’s market, registered a 60-rial drop compared with Tuesday’s close and changed hands for 47,560 rials. The European currency has now lost against rial for six days in a row after it experienced an unprecedented rally in midsummer, Financial Tribune reported.
