Iran exports $900m to Turkey in 6 months

EghtesadOnline: Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and Head of Trade Promotion Organization Mojtaba Khosrotaj said on Thursday that in the first half of the year (1396) non-oil goods worth 900 million dollars were exported to Turkey.

He said that according to a signed agreement between Iran and Turkey in 2013, 140 items of Iranian exporting goods, mainly agricultural crops, and 125 items of Turkey exporting goods to Iran, mainly industrial products are included for preferential tariffs, IRNA reported.

He made the remarks during visit to Razi-Khoy Railway on Thursday.

Khosrotaj said Razi railway is strategic route for connection to Europe and added that terminal services for passengers should be developed here.

According to the statistics of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, trade volume between Iran and Turkey is around 14 to 15 billion dollars, which upon negotiations between senior officials of the two states is to increase to 30 billion dollars annually.

Iran and Turkey have 550 kilometers common borders and border points of Sero, Razi and Bazargan are border terminals between the two countries.
