Iran, Belarus diplomats discuss Eurasia cooperation

EghtesadOnline: Iran's Ambassador to Belarus Mustafa Ovaysi and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Andrei Yeudachenka met in Minsk on Wednesday, and discussed bilateral ties and cooperation within Eurasia framework.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations as well as ties in the framework of regional issues, especially cooperation between Tehran and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

According to IRNA, Yeudachenka said that Belarus maintains priority in multilateral cooperation with Iran as well as bilateral ties.

He expressed his country's support, as one of the members of EAEU, for beginning wider cooperation with Iran.

Ovaysi pointed to Iran's priority to expand ties with EAEU's member states, and said that such cooperation could be beneficial for the whole region to enhance bilateral and multilateral relations.

According to the results of several round of talks on July 5, 2017 a list comprising 530 items of industrial production of Iran and five member states of EAEU was finalized with preferential tariff.

Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mojtaba Khosrotaj and EAEU Minister of Trade Veronika Nikishina signed the agreement.

Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan are members of Eurasian Economic Union with 180 million populations.
