About 5.6 million passengers and 61,000 tons of cargo were transported during the period, indicating a 4% and 12% year-on-year growth respectively, IAC reported on its website.
As for domestic flights, 33,524 takeoffs and landings were registered, up 2% YOY.
More than 4.17 million passengers and 33,000 tons of goods were transported domestically, indicating a 0% and 8% rise respectively over the last year’s same period, according to Financial Tribune.
On the international front, about 9,124 takeoffs and landings were registered, marking a 15% YOY rise.
A total of 1.49 million passengers and 27,386 tons of cargo were transported to and from overseas destinations, posting a 16% and 19% YOY increase.
Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport was the busiest domestic airport during the period, followed by Mashhad International Airport and Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport.
