Volvo Trucks to expand operations in Iran

EghtesadOnline: The CEO of Swedish Volvo Trucks has announced that the company intends to increase its investment and operations in Iran.

On the sidelines of his trip to Iran, the CEO of Volvo Trucks Claes Nilsson told the ISNA news agency, “The Company manufactures its vehicles in Iran with the same technology it uses in Europe”.

"We have invested in truck body manufacturing in Iran and we intend to expand our investment in this sector," ISNA quoted him as saying.

"Our latest investment in Iran dated back to 2016 with a value of $ 6 million to improve the quality of the FH truck and so far we have invested $ 55 million in auto manufacturing lines in Iran," Nilsson went on to say.

The CEO of the Iranian company Saipa Diesel had already announced that this company and the Swedish Volvo Trucks reached the preliminary agreement to found a joint venture in Iran.
