Iranian films at Malaysian film festival PIFFA

EghtesadOnline: Iranian films “Daughter” and “Sound and Fury” will vie at the most important film festival in Malaysia.

The PROFIMA International Film Fest & Awards (PIFFA) is the most important film event in Malaysia, which after 12 years of organization, will launch this year the competition section for the first time.

With nominating in six categories, “Daughter” directed by Reza Mirkarimi is in the lead, according to ISNA.

The Iranian film is nominated in categories of the best film, the best actor (Farhad Aslani), the best supporting actress (Merila Zarei), the best editing (Meysam Moini), the best cinematography and the prize of the new acting talent (Mahour Alvand).

The second Iranian film “Sound and Fury” directed by Houman Seyedi will also represent Iranian cinema in the Best Screenplay section.

PIFFA will be held from November 4 to 6 in Malaysia.
