EghtesadOnline: The Iranian Embassy in London has reacted to statements by the British deputy foreign minister on Iran's role in the Yemeni crisis.

In a statement, the Iranian Embassy in London expressed its protest against the statements of the British deputy foreign minister for Middle East Affairs, according to ISNA.

“It is very surprising that the UK Foreign Office by referring to the report of the Saudi-led military coalition on the Iranian nature of the recently fired missile against the Saudi airport, calls for Iran to play a role positive in the Yemeni crisis,” Iranian Embassy said in the statement.

“It is not necessary to explain that the cruel massacre of Yemen's innocent and defenseless women and children and the destruction of infrastructure in the country during the last two years by the military coalition led by Saudi Arabia and with using equipment and armaments from some Western countries like the United Kingdom, caused widespread killing of innocent people and created famine, the cholera epidemic and other infectious diseases,” the statement added.

The Iranian Embassy in London stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always insisted on the swift end of the massacre of the innocent and the necessity of the end of the Yemeni crisis.

"The Iranian foreign minister's four-article plan submitted to the UN Secretary-General in 2015 is still valid after two years of the Yemeni massacre of innocent people and can be used to solve this crisis. This plan includes quick truce, sending humanitarian aid, inter-Yemeni dialogues and the creation of an inclusive government,” the statement said.
