Iran’s Main Export Destinations

EghtesadOnline: China, Iraq, the UAE, South Korea and Afghanistan were Iran’s top export destinations in the descending order over the eight months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Nov. 21), the latest figures by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration showed.

China was the main customer of Iranian products during the eight-month period, as Iran exported $5.74 billion worth of goods to the Asian country, 13.51% more than in the corresponding period of last year.

Other major export destinations included Iraq with $4.35 billion, the UAE with $3.89 billion, South Korea with $2.74 billion and Afghanistan with $1.84 billion worth of imports from Iran.  Exports to Iraq, South Korea and Afghanistan rose by 6.51%, 28.12% and 12.11% respectively compared to last year, but the UAE imported 18.7% less goods from Iran compared with last year’s similar period.

Iran’s non-oil foreign trade stood at $60.9 billion in eight months, indicating an 8% rise compared with last year’s corresponding period, Financial Tribune reported.

Exports hit 78.81 million tons worth $28.48 billion, indicating a 1.21% decline year-on-year and imports amounted to 23.56 million tons worth $32.41 billion, up 17.52% YOY.
