EghtesadOnline: Upon the completion of “the Comprehensive Taxation Plan”, paper will be eliminated from all taxation procedures, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Masoud Karbasian announced.

Digitization of the services will eliminate the need for the physical presence of taxpayers to access information and help reduce the cost and time they put in, IRNA quoted Karbasian as saying. Kamel Taqavinejad, the chairman of the Iranian National Tax Administration, said the Comprehensive Taxation Plan includes 32 projects that have all become operational. “The key component of the plan is the comprehensive taxation software that is in use in tax offices as we speak. The registration and submission of tax returns are carried out 100% online and the administration is all set to become completely paperless in the near future, a major development in the taxation system,” Financial Tribune quoted him as saying.
