Imam Khomeini Port Operations Increase

EghtesadOnline: More than 37.27 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Imam Khomeini Port located in the southern Khuzestan Province during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2017-Jan. 21, 2018), the director general of Khuzestan Ports and Maritime Organization said.

“Close to 21.65 million tons of non-oil goods and nearly 15.63 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port during the period, registering a 4% and 2% growth respectively compared with the similar period of last year,” Adel Deris was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. The official noted that more than 2 million tons of oil products were transited through the port during the period, showing a 6% hike year-on-year.  Container loading and unloading during the same period stood at 100,890 TEUs. Imam Khomeini Port is the second largest port in Iran after Shahid Rajaee, Financial Tribune reported.
