Over 27% of Iran's Capital Market Transactions Online

EghtesadOnline: About 111 million shares valued at 218.74 billion rials ($4.75 million) were traded online at Iran’s capital market during the first 10 months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Jan. 20).

According to Monetary and Banking Research Institute, the figures constitute 27.77% and 22.54% of the market’s total number of equities traded and trade value respectively.

Investing online, also known as online trading or trading online, is a process by which individual investors and traders buy and sell securities over an electronic network, typically with a brokerage firm.

This type of trading and investing has become the norm for individual investors and traders since late 1990s, with many brokers offering services via a wide variety of online trading platforms, according to Financial Tribune.
