EghtesadOnline: Mohsen Nariman was appointed as the head of the board of directors and new CEO of Aras Free Trade and Industrial Zone by Morteza Bank, secretary of the High Council of Free Zones and advisor to the president.

Nariman, who will replace Mohsen Khadem Arab-Baghi, has served four terms as a member of parliament representing the people of Babol, a city in the northern Mazandaran Province. His other responsibilities include governor of North Khorasan Province and CEO at Tehran Province Water and Wastewater Company, to name a few. Situated in northwest Iran bordering Armenia, Azerbaijan and the semi-autonomous Nakhchivan region, Aras has become the main gateway to mainland Iran from the northern Commonwealth of Independent States. Aras is likely to become a far more central and major player in the years to come, as the area has historical links with its northern neighbors, according to Financial Tribune.
