Iran Exports to OIC Top $17 Billion

EghtesadOnline: Iran exported $17.19 billion worth of goods to member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation during the first 10 months of the current year (started March 21, 2017), Trade Promotion Organization of Iran announced.

OIC is an international organization founded in 1969, consisting of 57 member states. The organization states that it is “the collective voice of the Muslim world” and works to “safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony. OIC has permanent delegations to the United Nations and the European Union.

According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, Iran exported a total of $35.61 billion worth of non-oil goods during the period under TPO review, indicating a 2% drop year-on-year. Petrochemical products had the lion’s share of Iranian exports during the period, Financial Tribune reported.

TPO added that Iran exported $7.23 billion, $5.79 billion, $1.72 billion, $1.55 billion and $1.19 billion worth of commodities to member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization, (Persian) Gulf Cooperation Council, the Association of Southeast Asian Nation, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the European Union during the period respectively, the Iranian economic daily Donya-e-Eqtesad reported.
