New Terminal to Boost IKIA Capacity by 10-Fold

EghtesadOnline: The construction of Iranshahr Terminal in the Imam Khomeini International Airport is planned to start in the next Iranian year (starting March 21), the airport’s CEO said.

Shahram Adamnejad added that the terminal will have the capacity to handle 100 million passengers annually upon the completion of the new terminal, Mehr News Agency reported.

Adamnejad said the development of Iranshahr terminal will entail three phases, which need a total of €2.5 billion.

Domestic and foreign designers can propose their designs and ideas at Myairport.ir and have a role in the construction of the airport terminal, according to Financial Tribune.

Latest statistics show Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport registered over 58,000 takeoffs and landings in 2017. A total of 10 million passengers used the airport last year.
