Ashgabat Hosts Iranian Expo

EghtesadOnline: The 14th Exclusive Exhibition of Iranian Goods and Services opened in Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat on Thursday in the presence of Iran’s Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari.

Over 60 companies in the fields of construction, oil & gas, petrochemicals, technical and engineering services, food, irrigation systems and agriculture are taking part in the three-day event, IRNA reported.

Later in the day, Shariatmadari met with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. 

According to Shariatmadari, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to visit Turkmenistan in the Iranian month ending April 20, Financial Tribune reported.

Iran-Turkmenistan Business Forum was held on Friday at the Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Iran had a strong presence in the First International Industry, Innovation and High-Tech Exhibition that opened in Ashgabat on Jan. 31. 

Thirty-two Iranian firms attended the three-day event alongside 53 companies from France, the US, the UK, Italy, Russia, Belgium, Germany, China, South Korea, Turkey, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan to showcase their latest products and services in the fields of oil, gas, auto industry and parts, transport, mining machinery, fertilizers and urea, cooling systems, tiles and ceramic, sanitaryware, construction materials, paper, steel and pipes, furniture, plastic industries, packaging and printing.

Iran exported $215 million worth of goods to Turkmenistan during the six months to Sept. 22, 2017.

According to Iran’s economic attaché to Turkmenistan, Rahmatollah Khormali, the exports mainly included steel, cement, clinker, bitumen, plastic products and potato, adding that Iran is among the top 10 exporters to Turkmenistan.
