According to Abdolhossein Namvar, Raz and Jargalan County was the hardest hit with 57.67 billion rials ($1.37 million) followed by Maneh and Samalqan County with 53.12 billion rials ($1.26 million) in losses, IRNA reported.
Among the crops damaged by flooding and hailstorm were grapes, walnut, pear, cherry, wheat, barley, cotton and rice. The northeastern Iranian province is prone to extreme weather conditions in the summer. North Khorasan is home to 344,000 hectares of agricultural land, Financial Tribune reported.
