CBI: Iran Inflation at 9.1%

EghtesadOnline: The average goods and services Consumer Price Index for urban areas in the 12 months ending May 21, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Ordibehesht, increased by 9.1% compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to the latest report released by the Central Bank of Iran.

CBI had put the inflation rate for the preceding month of Farvardin, which ended on April 20, at 9.2%.

The overall CPI (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 117.5 in Ordibehesht, indicating a 1.6% increase compared with the previous month.

The index registered a year-on-year increase of 9.7% compared with the similar month of last year, according to Financial Tribune.

The CBI report came after the Statistical Center of Iran put Ordibehesht inflation at 8%.
