Gold Prices Up in Tehran Market

EghtesadOnline: Emami gold coin gained 200,000 rials ($4.7) to trade at 20,640,000 rials ($491) in Tehran’s market on Monday.

The other benchmark, Azadi Gold Coin, increased by the same amount to 19,870,000 rials ($473), with half Azadi Gold Coin growing 130,000 rials ($3) to fetch 10,200,000 rials ($242.8), IBENA reported.

Gold hit 3,600,000 rials ($85.7) per gram, marking a 30,000-rial (71-cent) jump, while per gram of the 18-karat gold remained stable at 1,892,000 rials ($45).

Dollar’s exchange rate gained 10 rials to close at 42,120 rials, euro’s rose by 220 rials to 49,100 rials and the pound traded at 56,100 rials, recording a 70-rial increase, Financial Tribune reported.

The government announced last month that it has unified the exchange rate for the US dollar in response to the sharp plunge in Iranian rial in the recent past.
