The MoU was signed by a deputy director at ISACO (Iran Khodro Spare Parts and After-Sale Services Company) Mohammad Shafeiyan and the college’s president, Mohammad Mehdi Alavian-Mehr.
Shafeiyan, chief of ISACO’s technical training bureau, stated that as per the MoU, ISACO is set to hold workshops in the college, introducing the latest developments in technology to faculty members, and providing students with the opportunity to attend up-to-date training courses, reported IRNA.
“Updating the syllabi, developing educational material and assisting students and faculty members in creating prototypes automotive parts,” were the goals listed by Shafeiyan for the agreement in question, Financial Tribune reported.
“Parts-making facilities and equipment will be installed in these workshops. ISACO is set to devolve its training projects to universities, so as to provide the needs of the industrial community through undergraduate projects,” he added.
Academic Potential
According to Shafeiyan, as long as universities thrive technically, the country’s industrial and technological needs can be met domestically, and the academic centers will also prosper.
ISACO also intends to use university sites for holding courses so as to enable the future workforce to be able to offer more effective after-sales services in Shiraz.
The Engineering College is considering a new approach for the development of ties with industries and aims to shape collaborations with businesses to train skilled technicians, head of entrepreneurship and industrial collaborations at the college, Zahra Bakhtiari, was quoted as saying.
The college’s president believes that universities have the potential to help Iranian industries upgrade their technological infrastructure.
Similar workshops have been arranged in Isfahan Kerman, and Zahedan. Shiraz workshops will open in the coming weeks.
