Iran Copper Concentrate Output Over 100K Tons Last Year

EghtesadOnline: Major Iranian copper producers produced 107,795 tons of copper concentrate during the first month of the current fiscal year, Farvardin (March 21-April 20), which indicates a 15% growth compared with last year’s similar period.

Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex accounted for 66,876 tons of the total figure, up 20% year-on-year. It was followed by Sungun complex with 26,839 tons, up 5% YOY, and Miduk complex with 14,080 tons up 11% YOY, according to data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization.

The three mines, all of which are subsidiaries of National Iranian Copper Industries Company, also produced 24,761 and 14,211 tons of copper anode and cathode, up 29% and 6% YOY respectively.

Copper oxide ore extraction reached 16.16 million tons during the month, up 19% YOY. Sulfide ore extraction was up 10% to reach 4.84 million tons, according to Financial Tribune.
