Amirabad: Biggest Export Terminal in Northern Iran

EghtesadOnline: More than 114,670 tons of commodities have been exported from Amirabad Port in the northern Mazandaran Province since the beginning of the current Iranian year on March 21, the manager of the Ports and Maritime Organization and the Special Economic Zone of Amirabad said.

Siyavash Rezvani also said on Thursday that with around 61% share, Amirabad was the biggest exporter from among the country’s northern ports.

“The exported goods mainly included construction material, agricultural and livestock products, household appliances, oil products, chemical pesticides, fertilizers and machinery, which headed to the littoral states of Caspian Sea,” he was quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

Nearly 624,400 tons of commodities have been imported into Amirabad Port over the same period under review, showing an 86% hike year-on-year, according to Financial Tribune.

Rezvani noted that close to 783,800 tons of goods have been loaded and unloaded in the port during the period, registering a 67% upsurge compared with the corresponding period of last year.
