EghtesadOnline: Bashmaq border crossing in the western Kurdestan Province’s Marivan County will be closed on June 15, at the request of the officials of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

All border interactions, including imports and exports, will come to a halt for 24 hours, IRNA reported.

Some $13 million worth of commodities are transited between Iran and the neighboring Iraq through Bashmaq every day.

Eid al-Fitr is the first day of the month of Shawwal in the lunar calendar, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, which is celebrated by Muslims, according to Financial Tribune.
