EghtesadOnline: Gazprom, Russia’s fourth largest gas producer, is mulling over taking part in development of Farzad-A and Farzad-B, a large gas reservoir in the Persian Gulf, a senior official at Gazprom said.

"Provisions are being made to take part in the natural gas exploitation from Farzad-A and Farzad-B gas fields and two other projects in Kish and South Pars gas fields," Vitaly Markelov, the deputy chairman of Managerial Committee, was also quoted as saying by IRNA on Friday. Iran has already signed two agreements with Gazprom over the development of North Pars and Kish gas fields, in addition to the Farzad projects. The three ventures would give Gazprom a strong foothold in Iran’s gas industry if finalized. The Gazprom official added that his company is starting talks on development of other potential markets and transportation routes, including the Iran-Oman pipeline and Iran-Pakistan-India route. Markelov said Gazprom is also weighing the possibility of finishing the LNG factory, the operations of which have been halted, according to Financial Tribune.
