EghtesadOnline: As part of SAIPA's extensive presale launched last week, the company offered a limited number of Kia Ceratos assembled in Iran, all of which were sold out in a few hours.

The company's presale of the model concluded in just a few hours with customers purchasing all the 1,500 units which SAIPA had put up for sale, reported local automotive website Asbe Bokhar. A deputy director with SAIPA, Hassan Qare'ii says the car manufacturer has designed the presale in a manner to mitigate the role of middlemen and soothe the volatile market. The solution the company has arrived at is to only allow the purchase of vehicles for those who have not used their Identification Numbers over the past six months to buy vehicles. Recent months have seen car prices reach unprecedented levels, prompting SAIPA and archrival Iran Khodro to increase supply to meet the growing demand in the market. The manufacturer's e-sale website received over five million visits in merely six hours after the sale was launched. Customers can pay for the vehicle upfront, or through various installment plans according to their preference. The vehicle is priced at 1.13 billion rials ($26,900) and will be delivered to customers in 45 days, according to Financial Tribune.
