EghtesadOnline: Iran's main landline telephony service provider Telecommunication Company of Iran is poised to assist local startups in commercializing their products and services in the key telecom sector.

Startups have a 12-day window of opportunity to submit their ideas and plans to the firm and have a chance at making use of its huge resources, TCI's website reported.

Company CEO Majid Sadri has invited all people and businesses who are interested in collaboration with TCI to send their information to the e-mail address office@tci.ir

The submitted information can include resumes, plans and capabilities as well as a list of requirements, Financial Tribune reported.

The requests will be reviewed and startup owners will be invited to TCI's head office for further discussions.

Sadri points to the significant role startups and innovative businesses play in advancing the country's telecommunications technology, adding that "the TCI is connected to the market and customers; startups can make use of TCI's strengths to commercialize their ideas."

The CEO hopes to utilize the talent and creativity of young entrepreneurs by granting them access to TCI's infrastructure.

Furthermore, Sadri aims to fulfill his company's social responsibility, curb overreliance on foreign entities and help create employment opportunities in the country.

Startups are strongly supported by the government of President Hassan Rouhani to expedite the country's transition from overdependence on oil revenues to a knowledge-based economy.

TCI's measure can become the lucky break so many startups seek to expand their business.
