N. Khorasan Q1 Exports Rise 7.4% in Value

EghtesadOnline: Close to 120,000 tons of commodities worth $27 million were exported from the northeastern province of North Khorasan during the first quarter of the current fiscal year (March 21-June 21), registering a decrease of 8.6% in tonnage and an increase of 7.4% in value compared to last year’s corresponding period.

This was announced by Yahya Nikdel, director general of North Khorasan Industries, Mining and Trade Organization. The exported goods mainly included petrochemical, steel, plastic, cement, foods and agricultural products. Notably, petrochemical exports from the province, with a 76.7% share in total exports, went up by 19.6% and 44% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year to 71,000 tons worth $21.24 million. India and Afghanistan were the main export destinations, accounting for 46% and 17% of North Khorasan’s total shipments respectively. Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, the UAE, Bulgaria, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Italy, Spain, Myanmar, Somali, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Pakistan, Russia and Germany were other export destinations, Financial Tribune reported.
