Hamidreza Khoshayand also told the National Iranian Oil Company's news portal that the firm has completed the operations for 53offshore and onshore oil and gas wells in the last four months. Of the total number of drilled wells, 25 were "development", three of them were categorized as "exploratory" and 25 needed overhauls, he added.
"NIDC, a subsidiary of NIOC, has developed 31 wells for the National Iranian South Oil Company in Khuzestan Province," Khoshayand said, noting that the company was also assigned with drilling five wells for the Iranian Offshore Oil Company that was completed successfully.
Ten wells were drilled in oilfields managed by the Petroleum Engineering and Development Company in West Karoun oil block that includes several large oilfields straddling the Iran-Iraq border, namely Yaran, Yadavaran and Darkhoein, according to Financial Tribune.
"Operations to drill eight wells were completed ahead of schedule," he said. Asked about Fat'h-33 drilling rig, Khoshayand said the rig is conducting operations in Fars Province as part of a deal signed between NIDC and NIOC's Exploration Department to drill exploratory wells.
Based on the agreement signed in April, NIDC is obliged to supply the department with two onshore drilling equipment and provide technical services for drilling eight wells over three years.
Founded in 1979, NIDC engages in the exploration, development and delineation drilling of oil and gas wells, especially in the joint oilfields, namely South Azadegan, 80 kilometers west of Ahvaz in Khuzestan along the Iraq border and Azar in Ilam Province, as well as South Pars, the world's largest gas field shared between Iran and Qatar in the Persian Gulf.
The company’s services include well logging, cementing and acidizing, drill stem test, well testing, training, development and general services. It provides more than 90% of drilling services needed by oil companies inside the country.
