34% Rise in Exports From Southern Port

EghtesadOnline: A total of 331,654 tons of non-oil commodities were exported from the port city of Bandar Lengeh in the southern Hormozgan Province during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22), registering a 34% growth compared with the similar period of last year.

According to Bandar Lengeh Ports and Maritime Organization’s Director Qasem Askari, the exported goods mainly included fruits and vegetables, nuts, minerals and construction materials.

Non-oil imports into the port city during the same period stood at 30,000 tons to register a 56% decrease, IRNA reported.

Askari added that 3.34 million tons of commodities were loaded and unloaded in Bandar Lengeh during the four-month period, Financial Tribune reported.

Transit of non-oil goods from the port city rose 31% to reach 88,691 tons, as container loading and unloading amounted to around 1,000 TEUs, indicating an 11% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year.
