EghtesadOnline: Iran’s health minister held a meeting on Sunday with managers of startups active in the field of healthcare, discussing ways to further expand mutual collaborations, while acknowledging the current barriers in the way of such firms’ expansion.

The minister, Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi, said during the meeting that just like every other sector, there is resistance against the presence of startups active in the field of healthcare, however, the ministry is willing to commission tasks to such firms, according to local technology news website CITNA.

Hashemi pointed to the efforts made by the ministry in the last four years to promote transparency, fight off corruption and move toward electronic services, along with plans aimed at curbing wasteful usage of medical equipment and drugs.

The meeting gave startup managers a chance to talk about their concerns and demands, plus the opportunity to showcase their services and potential to shape collaborations with the ministry, Financial Tribune reported.

Representatives from Iranian startups namely Hospitel, Zoop, Full Fekr, Abre Salamat, Tavanito, Shafajoo, AZ Sense and Tele Teb were present at the meeting.
