This edition of the exhibition is aimed at supporting domestic production and job creation, as well as utilizing domestic capacity in medicinal plants and traditional medicine, ILNA reported.
“Iranian medicinal plant industry has an annual turnover of 70 trillion rials ($700 million), of which 30 trillion rials ($300m) to 40 trillion rials ($400m) pertain to exports,” Financial Tribune quoted Hossein Zeinali, an official with the Ministry of Agriculture, as saying.
Zeinali noted that currently 190,000 hectares of land are under the cultivation of medicinal plants in Iran, which are expected to reach 220,000 hectares by the fiscal yearend (March 2019), IRNA reported.
