EghtesadOnline: Iran has a shortage of about 100,000 tires in its road transportation fleet, trucks in particular, a deputy minister of roads and urban development said.

Abdolhashem Hassannia added that the ministry’s authorities have been informed about the shortage on many occasions, yet no measures have been taken to date, the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported on Monday, according to Financial Tribune.

“There are more than 340,000 trucks, buses and minibuses plying Iranian roads and if the issue is not sorted out, road transportation will suffer,” Hassannia, who doubles as the head of Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization of Iran, said.
