“About 90% of the production units are small, 6% are medium-sized and 4% are large,” Mohsen Salehinia was also quoted as saying by Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture’s news service.
According to Salehinia, the government has given 13 trillion rials ($100 million) in loans to 450 economic entities since the beginning of the current fiscal (March 21), Financial Tribune reported.
By definition, enterprises run by 50 workers or less, and 100 workers or less are considered small- and medium-sized enterprises respectively, according to Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization.
