Iran's Trade With Iraq Grows 28%

EghtesadOnline: Iran traded 6.39 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $3.43 billion with Iraq during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22).

This marks a 16.32% and 28.2% growth in tonnage and value respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period, latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show. Iran’s exports to Iraq stood at 6.36 million tons worth $3.41 billion, up 17.20% and 29.35% in tonnage and value respectively year-on-year.  Iraq was Iran’s third major export destination during the period. Iran mainly exported mineral products, hydrocarbon and evaporative coolers to Iraq during the five-month period. Iraq exported 33,441 million tons of goods worth $16.15 million to Iran, down 52.01% and 55.53% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. Iraq was the 48th exporter of goods to Iran over the five months. The imports mainly included low-density oil, cellphones and aluminum, according to Financial Tribune.
