Iran Flower, Ornamental Plant Exports at $25m

EghtesadOnline: Some $25 million worth of flowers and ornamental plants were exported from Iran during the last fiscal year (March 2017-18).

Iran accounted for only 0.1% of the world trade in the field, according to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Greenhouses, Medical Plants and Edible Mushroom Affairs Bureau.

Gholamreza Taqavi also told IRNA that the country has vast potential to increase its flower and ornamental plant exports.

Taqavi noted that more than $14 million worth of seeds, bulbs and saplings of flowers and ornamental plants were imported during the same period, according to Financial Tribune.
