The average goods and services Consumer Price Index in the 12-month period ending Oct. 22, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Mehr, increased by 12.7% for the first decile while it rose by 14.3% for the 10th decile.
The fourth and fifth deciles saw their 12-month average inflation rate grow by 13.5% compared with last year’s corresponding period. The average annual inflation rate for the second decile increased by 13.2% in Mehr, third decile 13.4%, sixth 13.6%, seventh 13.8%, eighth 13.9% and ninth decile 14%.
The highest overall CPI (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 146.4 for the tenth decile and the lowest index was 143.9 for the first decile, Financial Tribune reported.
The year-on-year inflation rates increased by 32.6% for the first decile, 33.7% for second and third, 33.6% for fourth, 33.4% for fifth and sixth, 34.1% for seventh and eighth, 34.3% for ninth and 35.3% for 10th decile.
Income deciles are groupings that result from ranking either all households or all persons in the population in the ascending order according to income, and then dividing the population into 10 groups, each comprising approximately 10% of the estimated population.
According to SCI, the overall goods and services Consumer Price Index registered a year-on-year increase of 32.8% in Mehr compared with the similar month of last year.
The CPI Index in the 12-month period ending Oct. 22 increased by 13.4% compared with last year’s corresponding period.
SCI had put the inflation rate for the preceding month of Shahrivar, which ended on Sept. 22 at 11.3%.
The center put average 12-month urban and rural inflation for Mehr at 13.4% and 13% respectively. The overall CPI reached 143.6 for urban households and 146.8 for rural households, indicating an increase of 6.8% for urban areas and a rise of 8.3% for rural areas compared with the previous month.
The index registered a YOY increase of 32.4% for urban areas and 35.3% for rural areas compared with the similar month of last year.
