Iran's Poultry Producer Inflation Up 70% YOY

EghtesadOnline: The Producer Price Index of poultry products in the third quarter of the current fiscal year (Sept. 23-Dec. 21, 2018), which marks the end of autumn, reached 470.54, indicating an increase of 32.71% compared with Q2 and 70.28% compared with last year's corresponding period, according to the Statistical Center of Iran's latest report.

Autumn’s producer inflation for chicken and egg groups increased by 39.56% and 18.24% compared with the preceding quarter and 90.42% and 36.31% compared with the same quarter of last year. 

The sector’s annual PPI, four-quarter period leading to Dec. 21, 2018, grew by 33.19%. 

The highest PPI growth of poultry farms among Iranian provinces during the period was registered for Gilan with 116.32% compared with Q2 and 272.25% year-on-year, Financial Tribune reported.

The Central Bank of Iran's latest report published earlier showed an increase of 52.9% was registered in the Producer Price Index in the Iranian month of Dey (Dec. 22, 2018-Jan. 20) compared with the similar month of last year.

PPI (using Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year for the first time) stood at 175.2 in Dey, indicating a 0.7% increase compared with the previous month.  

The average PPI in the 12 months ending Jan. 20 grew by 34.2% compared with last year’s corresponding period. CBI put the preceding month’s annual PPI inflation at 30.6%.
