According to Gholamreza Balouti-Mirza, a local customs official, major goods exported from the province during the period included steel ingots, polyethylene, chemicals, slab, semi-finished iron/steel products, fruits, vegetables and fish.
China, Iraq, India, the UAE, Thailand, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt and Qatar were the main export destinations, the Persian daily Donya-e-Eqtesad reported.
According to the official, the province earned 27.02 trillion rials ($207.86 million) in customs revenues during the period, Financial Tribune reported.
Petrochemicals had the lion’s share (63%) in export value, followed by metals (20%), agro products (12%), minerals (3%) and industrial products (2%), as well as handicrafts and carpets (below 1%).
A total of 13.77 million tons of commodities worth $6.18 billion were imported into the southern Iranian province during the same period.
The imports mainly included field corn, soybean oil, soybean oilcake, gasoline, sunflower oil, petrochemical machinery and equipment, palm oil, and medium-density fiber.
Brazil, China, Ukraine, the US, Argentina, India, the UAE, Malaysia, Thailand and South Korea were the main exporter of goods to Khuzestan.
