Stock Trade in Tehran Market Ends Week in Positive Territory

EghtesadOnline: The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange conquered a new channel of 290,000-point on Wednesday to close the trading week 1.6% higher.

TSE surged on Wednesday as investors shun the stocks of auto companies and turned to commodity stocks. 

The giant Iranian petrochemical company, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, added 800 points to the benchmark alone, according to Donyaye Bourse website. 

The second biggest winner in the commodity group was Mobarakeh Steel Company when its shares shot up after it said it plans to raise in the capital of the company by 60%, Financial Tribune reported.

 

Market Performance 

The TSE's main index TEDPIX gained 4,604.84 points or 1.61% on Wednesday to end trading at 290,178.4.

About 3.24 billion shares valued at 14.28 trillion rials ($125.85 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

Shahroud Cement Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 10.16% to 4,836 rials per share. 

Sepanta Company (internet service provider) incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.8% to 75,073 rials per share.

Khorasan Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company, SAIPA Automaker Company, and Tejarat Bank.

Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, and Mapna Group.

The Price Index gained 1,237.68 points, or 1.61% to close at 77,991.8. First Market Index increased by 2,872.48 points, or 1.37% to post 211,823.5.

The Second Market Index increased by 11,496.66 points, or 2.00% to reach 585,929.7.

The Industry Index increased by 4,124.38 points or 1.60% to register 261,210.4. The Free Float Index was up 5,291.72 points to hit 330,076.55.

TSE 30 increased by 172.99 points to settle at 12,559.4 and the TSE 50 ended 169.97 points higher to finish at 11,487.4.

 

IFB Up 1.48%

Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX gained 55.13 points or 1.48% to close Wednesday trade at 3,770.65.

About 2.94 billion securities valued at 12.76 trillion rials ($112.48 million) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.

Esfahan Steel Company had the highest number of traded shares as 204.44 million of its shares worth 368.91 billion rials ($3.25 million) were traded.

Marun Petrochemical Complex, Pasargad Insurance Company, and Arfa Iron and steel Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Zagros Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Esfahan Steel Company, and Damavand Power Generation Company.
