EghtesadOnline: National Iranian Copper Industries Company sold 84.6 trillion rials ($745 million) worth of products in the first five months of the Iranian year (March 21-Aug. 22), according to the managing director of the company.

Ardeshir Sa'd-Mohammadi predicted that NICICO’s sales would surpass 100 trillion rials ($881 million), which is equal to the company's total sales volume earned last year (March 2018-19), IRIB News reported.

He noted that NICICO produced a record high of 110,000 tons of copper cathode during the five months under review.

NICICO is a leading copper producer in the Middle East and North Africa region and its mines hold close to 14% of Asia’s copper deposits and about 3% of global reserves, Financial Tribune reported.

Iran holds about 4 billion tons of estimated copper reserves, Geological Survey of Iran declared.
