EghtesadOnline: Iran’s egg exports have ceased for more than a month now, says Nasser Nabipour, chairman of Tehran's Union of Producers of Egg-Laying Chicken’s board of directors.

He explained that export markets, including Iraq and Afghanistan, are no longer interested in importing eggs from Iran, as the country has failed to maintain steady exports to those countries in recent months, Mehr News Agency reported.

Nabipour noted that the above-mentioned destinations have replaced Iran with Turkey for egg imports.

“A total of between 12,000 and 13,000 tons of eggs had been exported from Iran since the beginning of the current fiscal year [March 21],” he said, adding that the exports were once as high as 10,000 tons per month, Financial Tribune reported.
