EghtesadOnline: The ban on ethanol imports has been lifted, according to the director general of the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's Import and Export Bureau.

“Due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, and the urgent need to battle the spread of the disease and supply the products needed by the Health Ministry to carry out a thorough battle against the virus, ethanol import is permitted from now on for production units that produce sanitizers and disinfectants,” Saeed Abbaspour was quoted as saying by ILNA on Monday.

The official said imports of the product will be supervised by the Consumer and Producer Protection Organization as well as the Health Ministry, adding that orders have been issued for the Central Bank of Iran to provide the foreign currency for these imports and for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration to conduct the clearance procedures promptly, Financial Tribune reported.
